One of my favorite new series of books are those by Jeff Lindsay about his “serial killer that only kills bad people,” Dexter.
The blurb for Darkly Dreaming Dexter, the first book in the series reads, “Meet Dexter Morgan, a polite wolf in sheep’s clothing. He’s handsome and charming, but something in his past has made him abide by a different set of rules. He’s a serial killer whose one golden rule makes him immensely likeable: he only kills bad people. And his job as a blood splatter expert for the Miami police department puts him in the perfect position to identify his victims. But when a series of brutal murders bearing a striking similarity to his own style start turning up, Dexter is caught between being flattered and being frightened of himself or some other fiend.”
Well, that about sums up the new series Dexter on Showtime, which is (of course) based on the novels. I just finished watching the first two episodes on the Showtime site, and I am hooked!
This may become a problem though because we don’t have Showtime, and I doubt that they are going to keep putting the spisodes online for free…though I wish they would.
So do I subscribe to Showtime for one show (and stay current with the series), or do I try to find the episodes on the net after the fact (which may or may not be practical), or do I just wait for the series on DVD (and totally fall behind on a show I really am getting into)?
Decisions, decisions…!!
