…or what have you camped out for?

Kismet mentioned that he is planning to “camp out” to purchase a Wii. I’ve stood in line for hours to get Star Wars tickets and the like, but I can’t remember a single product that got me to actually sleep on the sidewalk in anticipation.

San Angelo “campers” waiting for the Nov17th PS3 release at Best Buy today

Can you?

Maybe it’s because I can usually find pretty good (and timely) deals online, but I must say that I have mad respect for anyone that would brave the elements to get their mitts on the latest gadget.

At least it is 70F here today. It will be in the high 30s tonight, tho. Gear Diary What Would You Camp Out For? photo

I’d love to hear your stories and see your pictures if you’ve camped out before…care to share? Gear Diary What Would You Camp Out For? photo

I have had a fascination with all types of gadgets and gizmos since I was a child, beginning with the toy robot that my grandmother gave my brother - which I promptly "relieved him of" in 1973. I have long been captivated by devices that did anything interesting or served a unique purpose - however silly. I can't tell you how everything works – but I am known world-wide for using a product until I have a full understanding of what it does, what its limitations are, and if it excels in any given area...or not.

Yep, they are crazy… Here in New York City its currently 64F (going to drop down to 50F later) windy and raining buckets and there is a flash flood warning in effect too. And I have no plans on camping out… I have a job to keep.

It might be tolerable if you had a group of friends doing it together, and there was an ice chest full of drinks and a campfire to make s’mores. ;-)

Honestly though, I can think of lots of places I might rather camp than a store’s front sidewalk… :-P

I accidently tumbled into some PS3 campers here in Nashville and went on a mission to find more:

Fun times – 36 hours for some in line with the wind and rain here in Nashville, TN.

I camped out when the PS2 launched years ago… it’s actually quite fun when you have all your friends around with you.
