Of all the movies that have come out of Hollywood, you can always count on Disney to put out quality entertainment for the whole family. National Treasure, which was released back in 2004, was the best Disney movie ever. I love this movie as it has everything that I like in it. There is action, adventure, an awesome heist, and there is an incredible story about hidden treasure. The film is also shot on location, so there are lots of scenes with historical importance as backgrounds.

Gear Diary National Treasure Sequel Coming Soon photo

Recently, I was watching a cable broadcast of National Treasure and thought to myself, it would be awesome if they would make a sequel. I then did a search on the Internet and guess what? They are making a sequel and it is due out this December!

The sequel is called National Treasure: Book of Secrets.” In the movie, Benjamin Franklin Gates (Nicolas Cage) searches for the truth behind the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Also returning for the sequel are all of the other good guys from the first movie, Jon Voight as Patrick Gates, Diane Kruger as Abigail Chase, Justin Bartha as Riley Poole and Harey Keitel as FBI Agent Peter Sadusky. Jon Turteltaub is also director of the sequel, so expect the same movie magic again.

And here is the current movie trailer:

Am I the only one that thinks this series totally stold Dan Brown’s “Da Vinci Code” sequel’s thunder? It was supposed to be about the founding fathers, FreeMasons, and all of the symbolism in the US. Gear Diary National Treasure Sequel Coming Soon photo

I thought it was a big stinker….but maybe that was because I had just finished reading the Da Vinci Code and felt it was taking advantage of the hype. Either way, the acting was horrible and the plot so-so. Definitely not the best Disney movie ever.

Allen is a computer technician with experience spanning MS-DOS to present. Having been a Star Trek fan all of his life has given him a love for technology. Tech toys and gadgets are also a weakness of his. Allen also loves video games, especially the classics and is a big Nintendo portable gaming fanboy and has his DS with him everyday so that he can get his gaming fix daily. He can also be considered a couch potato as he is addicted to watching TV, especially the Sci Fi Channel with its B-movies.
