So you got your new MacBook (gorgeous isn’t it?) and you really want to carry it with you everywhere. You could throw it into a large, super protective notebook case. The problem is, but that would just weigh you down after Apple was kind enough to shave half a pound from it. You could carry it in a highly protective laptop sleeve, such as the one that I use from Waterfield. It works great and offers a fair amount of protection.

But what if you want to carry a work briefcase and don’t feel like having two different cases? What if you just want to keep your MacBook’s beautiful aluminum body scratch free in the lightest and thinnest way possible? Enter Waterfield’s new Suede Jacket Sleeve.

As Waterfield describes it-

It doesn’t get any thinner than this! The suede jacket sleeve helps prevent scratches and dings on your Mac and the custom sizing plus stretch memory of the ultra suede ensures assigned fit… This elegant, low-profile sleeve slips easily into a briefcase, messenger bag or backpack and helps protect your laptop from the minor bumps and bruises of daily use.

The new suede jacket sleeves are shipping and mine arrived earlier today. It’s typical Waterfield —

— built from high-quality materials, constructed with great care, and designed with thoughtful details.

Even on something as simple as this sleeve the attention and thought Waterfield put into its design is clear.

For example, the custom sizing of the sleeve means that it easily slips over the MacBook while holding the device tightly without the need for anything else to secure it inside.

Finger loops on either side of the sleeve make it easy to get the MacBook inside and are attached in such a manner that there’s no chance they will loosen with use.

Finally, the addition of a layer of neoprene at the bottom of the sleeve protects the most vulnerable part of the MacBook when sitting inside a briefcase.

Other features include–

* 100% scratch-free Ultrasuede with stretch memory.
* TSA friendly – laptops can remain in the Suede Jacket through airport security.
* An imbedded neoprene liner along the bottom where laptops need the most
protection.
* Machine or hand-washable.
* Sleeve can be used to clean digital screens.
* Classic, Elegant black.

Waterfield’s Suede Jacket Sleeves are well-priced and offer an excellent option for low-profile MacBook protection.

What I like

  1. I’ve always wondered with these things that supposedly TSA doesn’t mind–how do they know your sleeve is TSA friendly or do you have to explain it to them? Or are they likely to just tell you to take it out anyway?

    (apart from that, the sleeve looks very nice and sleek)
