The unreleased Gateway FX 6800-01e gets a thorough looking over at SlashGear. This box is one of the first to use the next generation Intel Core i7 processor (aka Nehalem). This processor is considered to be the most significant architectural change since the Pentium. True to form, it looks like Intel has several (confusing) flavors of Core i7 to introduce including: Extreme Version (3.2 GHZ), Performance Version (2.93 GHZ) and Mainstream Version (2.66 GHZ). Slashgear is mostly impressed and they have a library of photos as well as benchmarks which tell the full story.
