Gear Diary Rock Paper Trimmer: Is there anything they wont add an MP3 player to? photo

There’s apparently no item that’s beyond the reach of manufacturers looking to increase the selling price of an ordinary item. This Fiskars craft trimmer has been “handsomely” retrofitted with speakers (unpowered) and a generic base to hold your MP3 player. There’s nothing else added here yet the suggested list price has been bumped to $99 to account for the added technology versus the (still overpriced) $63 for this similar trimmer. Luckily an eagle eyed shopper spotted these on closeout (wonder why) in Joanns. I have to wonder how many people sliced their headphone cords in half while using the trimmer/mp3 player.
