The iSkin Revo was one of the most popular cases for the first generation iPhone.  How does the Revo 2 for the iPhone 3G measure up?  There’s no denying the Revo 2 is jammed packed with features.  It offers several layers of protection and comes in a variety of color combinations.

The iSkin revo2 features a soft premium quality silicone case that perfectly encapsulates your beloved iPhone 3G, and delivers the complete coverage you need from everyday hazards such as impact, shock, dirt, dust, moisture and more. Offering a brilliant range of features and chic fashion–forward design, the revo2 is the iPhone 3G protection you need with the cool style you love.

The case includes two screen protectors.  One is the traditional variety that you attach to the screen.  Unfortunately it only covers the viewable area of the screen and not the entire front of the phone like most screen protectors do.  The second is a hard plastic visor that covers the front of the screen.  You can not use the phone’s touch screen while the visor is on.

Like most silicone skins installation is quite simple.  You insert the phone into the skin wrapping it around the outside as you go.  The skin is stretchy enough to fit over the phone but does not feel loose.  Once on it offers a very slim fit and doesn’t seem bulky at all.

The back of the case has a honeycomb pattern which helps increase grip and prevents it from sliding around on hard surfaces.

The case covers all the iPhone’s ports except for the vibrate switch.  It still allows access when you need it to the headset jack and dock connector via tabbed covers.  The power button and volume rocker areas of the case are raised so you can feel their location without having to look.

Although the dock connector and most of the bottom portion of the phone are covered there are cutouts for both the speaker and the microphone.

In order to use the phone you’ll have to remove the plastic visor to gain access to the touch screen.  However it clips nicely to the back of the phone for safe keeping.

However, you’re still able to see through the plastic if all you need is to see the screen.

Like many of iSkin’s products the Revo 2 features a layer of antimicrobial protection which inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew.

The case works in conjunction with the iSkin Revo Belt Clip sold separately.

The case comes in four color options (Red/Black, Blue/Black, Clear Frosted/Black and Black/Black).

If you need a case that offers a good amount of protection but doesn’t add much bulk take a look at the iSkin Revo 2.

You can get more information on the Revo 2 from the iSkin website.

M.S.R.P. – $39.99

What I like – Good amount of protection, slim fit.

What I don’t like – Small screen protector, does attract some lint.
