Essentially, it monitors a variety of Deal Sites (such as Fatwallet). You can simply browse those sites (much more quickly than using the mobile browser and going to each one) but more importantly it aggregates your searches.
The application doesn’t currently support adding or removing sites but it is under development according to the author.
The real power comes in when you combine it’s search feature with the power of WebOS background functionality. Essentially you are setting up an agent. Such as search for all Asus Eee deals. You can hit a button and get a list of all those deals currently and/or, if you don’t clear the agent, it will continually look for new listings.
The real key is it can do this, even if you close the application. So if a new deal is posted for an Asus Eee, you will get one of those ‘world famous’ Palm Pre notifications on your phone. Tap the notification and you are brought to the deal.
It allows you to set the frequency for checking from as little as 30 minutes up to Once per Day. According to the author, nothing more than an event timer is setup which is part of WebOS, which means when its not checking, it has no impact on performance, memory or battery life. When it is checking, I’m sure there is some processing and juice used. But if you only have it check once every six hours or so, it should not be noticeable. You can disable the background checking altogether if you so wish.
The application is currently available in the Palm Pre App Catalog for $1.99.
