I had the opportunity to have dinner with Judie and Wayne Thursday night. It was great to finally meet them in person and to discover that two of the people I spend a lot of time e-mailing and chatting with online are just as much fun to be with in person as they are from a distance.
We each have slightly different needs and interests and, as a result, each of us was carrying something a little bit different. Wayne had his Zune HD and his MyTouch3G. Judie was carrying her 8 gazillion dollar Virtu. (Okay it is just $8000 but still IT IS $8000!!!!) I brought my BlackberryBold and my LiveScribe Pulse Pen since I don’t go anywhere without it these days.
There was, however, one piece of equipment we all had in common. Every… single… one… of us had…
our iPhones dressed in a Mophie Juice Pack Air external battery case.

We all love the extra/needed battery time and low-profile protection it offers.
I was chatting with Judie this afternoon and she commented that we weren’t the only ones who are carrying our iPhone’s in a Mophie. Xavier and Amisha from Notebooks.com use the Mophie, and Andru from Gear Live uses the Mophie holster to boot!
It makes a lot of sense that a lot of us are using this particular accessory. The iPhone 3GS is a remarkable device but it’s battery life is less than stellar- especially if you are a power user. (Even with Judie using only Edge and not 3G both the iPhone and the Mophie were drained by 10 o’clock last night.) The Mophie Juice Pack Air is the best low profile way to extend the runtime of the iPhone that we found.
It’s one thing for us to talk about a device or an accessory when we review it. It’s quite another to realize that we are all using it in real life. Well done Mophie!
