Gear Diary Battleship for iPhone OS hits the App Store photo

I played the game religiously as a child.  I’ll bet the original game still sits somewhere, buried in a closet in the basement of the home I grew up in, minus a few pegs.

Now the game I played as a youth is available for the iPhone.

Premier iPhone application developer EA has released Battleship for the iPhone OS.

The game-play and overall strategy remains just like the original version but the graphics and 3D effects bring it into the future.  There are however new super-weapons and different modes of play as well.

The game can be played in two-player mode over bluetooth or WiFi as well.

Check it out in the iTunes App Store for $2.99 here.

I have always had a passion for gear and gadgets. It all started for me with the release of the very first Palm Pilot. I've always had an interest in handheld electronics. From handheld PDAs, to cell phones, Mp3 players, watches and other products, I'm the first person my friends, family and colleagues call when they need advice on tech. I have roots in the online tech. forum community. I served as the Administrator to Howard Forums.com and as a Moderator at both Treo Central.com and Blackberry Forums.net. Under the screen name “lgreenberg” I've amassed 50,000+ postings. I also manage my own YouTube channel under the user name larrygreenberg. I'm always eager to help.
