Gear Diary Review: duaLink from CableJive photo

If you’re anything like me, chances are you juggle a few Apple devices around.  Personally I use an iPhone, iPod Touch and an iPod Classic.  Each device uses Apple’s dock connector on the bottom, to which I insert a charge/sync cable when it comes time to either hook the device to iTunes or add some additional power to the battery.

I’ve got one Apple charge and sync cable hooked up to my iMac which means I can charge or sync one of my three devices at any one time.

At least that used to be the case…….

Thanks to the new DuaLink cable from CableJive I can now charge and sync two of my Apple devices at once.

The duaLink combines two Apple charge and sync cables into one USB cable.  You can charge and sync two devices from a single USB port.

The duaLink contains a tiny USB hub which allows it to coordinate the syncing and charging of two devices.

The cable itself measures 9 inches long and is made from a heavy duty wire and housing which will allow it to stand up over time.

I tested the duaLink with my iPhone 3Gs and iPod Touch and found that it worked exactly as advertised.  I was able to charge or sync both devices from only ONE of the USB ports on my iMac.

The duaLink works with both Mac and PC as well.

Remember how much I love convergence?  While it’s true you could invest in a dock to use with your multiple devices many docks don’t allow you to use them with third party cases installed.  That’s one of the nice things about the duaLink.  No need to remove your case when you want to charge or sync.  And docks only allow you to charge or sync one device at a time.  The duaLink does two simultaneously.

The dualLink is available now directly from the CableJive web site by clicking here.

It comes with a lifetime guarantee.

M.S.R.P. – $25.95

What I like - allows charging and syncing of two devices at the same time, durable.

What I don’t like – may not be long enough for everyone.
