Gear Diary The Nexus One may soon be less exclusive, Pick one up on your next grocery run photo

If you’ve been holding out on buying a Nexus One, it may have paid off. Of course there are no guarantees on price but you will soon be able to buy a Nexus One from Walmart and Letstalk Wireless. Even more interesting is that the phone shows the support of Sprint and Verizon EvDO bands along with AT&T’s GSM. The site is live now and can been seen through the link at the bottom. The rumored price is said to be only $99 with new contract.

I can’t understand how Wal-Mart got the rights to sell the phone, as it is now exclusive only to the Google site since the announcement. Hopefully the sale goes live soon and will give people a chance to get the phone at a considerably lower price. Now you have something useful to buy with all those extra Christmas gift cards.

UPDATE: Walmart is in complete denial and claims this to be a mistake. So much a mistake it’s still on their website as of this update. Sounds like someone pulled the trigger early on the putting up the page and will now be getting 30 lashes for it. This was found posted on The Business Insider

Here’s Walmart spokesman Ravi Jariwala:

“Due to a technical error, this item erroneously was displayed on our site. We’re working with our partner Let’s Talk to have it removed as quickly as possible. We have no plans to carry Nexus One in Walmart stores or online at Walmart.com at this time.”

UPDATE II: Walmart has finally taken the link down from the site. I think this was not a false, but just a tad early. I doubt they would put up a full spec listing and that whole page if it was false. I think sometime in the future we will be able to purchase the Nexus direct from Walmart.
