I know, I know. Today is supposed to be Apple Tablet Day. We arent supposed to talk about ANYTHING else. Yeah, right. I dont think so.
So, here are some news items about another “Jesus phone-like” device, the Google Nexus One:
- 3G fix for Nexus One coming: According to a post over at Boy Genius Report, Google is in the process of testing and releasing a software fix to the issue of 3G connectivity with the Nexus One. While, Kevin Tofel of JKontheRun was able to fix the issue for himself, the rest of us will wait for the OTA download.
- Nexus One Censors? The folks at the Consumerist uncovered something interesting about Google’s Nexus One Voice to Text messages. Would you believe it censors you? If you say a curse word, the phone will censor the transcription to text. How is that Miss Manners? According to Google, ““We filter potentially offensive or inappropriate results because we want to avoid situations whereby we might misrecognize a spoken query and return profanity when, in fact, the user said something completely innocent.”
- Nexus One dock with interesting specs: Since I just mentioned them, JKontheRun has talked with The Android Guys about a new Nexus One dock that supported external speakers and wireless audio. “The Bluetooth, he says, is used to pipe music through external speakers attached to the dock via a mini audio jack.” Interesting yes?
Ok, now back to your regularly scheduled Apple tablet rumors, news, and speculation already in progress….
