Trexta Racing Series Case for iPhone Review: makes me go vroom vroom

Snap on back covers are a popular category in the over-crowded iPhone case market.  These simple to put on cases mostly protect the back of the iPhone and keep the phone’s profile slim.

Trexta has been making accessories for wireless devices for over ten years but just recently began doing so for Apple devices.

Their racing series case, which is made from genuine leather, is inspired by elements straight from the speedway.

Since snap on back covers for the iPhone are available in so many variations it’s important that when companies release new versions they offer something different.

Does the Trexta Racing Series match up?  Read on to find out.

The Trexta Racing Series case comes in minimalistic packaging that matches its racing inspired look.  The checker board pattern of the winner’s flag highlights the background of the cardboard package.

Here’s what Trexta has to say about the case:

At Trexta we are taking accessories into a new level!

The case, which is handcrafted from genuine leather, features two stitched stripes down the black.  The version I ordered is black and white, but the case is available in three other color combinations (black & red, white & red and white, black & red.)

The interior of the case features a white, soft touch material which should protect the back of your phone from being scratched.

There’s no “lay-on-the-table” design here.  The case leaves most of the chrome on the sides of the iPhone exposed as well as all on the top and bottom.  Because the bottom of the case is completely open, I was able to dock the phone in the case in my Griffin Simplifi dock.

There is a full cutout on the side of the case giving access to the phone’s volume rocker and vibrate switch.

The cut out for the camera lens on the back of the case lines up perfectly with the camera on the back of the iPhone.

The case features a small cutout on the bottom right corner which resembles the Trexta logo.  Although it blends it nicely with the back of my white iPhone I couldn’t help but wish it gone.

The Trexta Racing Series case is flat-out gorgeous.  The black and white leather look and feel great.  This color combination should match up well to either the black or the white iPhone.  The case features an ultra-slim profile that offers something that’s unique making it stand out from the loads of other snap on back cover iPhone cases.

If you’re a racing enthusiast you’ll appreciate the case’s track inspired look, and even if you’re not you’ll sure to like the sleek, slim case as well.

What I like – looks and feels great.

What I don’t like – no chrome protection, logo cutout on back.
