Gear Diary Is That a WiFi Finder on Your Bag or Are You Just Happy to See Me? photo

Soyntec hit us up with a press release today on some of their new lap top bags.  The thing is, these aren’t regular old, garden variety bags.

The new additions to their Wiffinder series have a built in WiFi detector sewn into the front of each bag.

Using the detector is as simple as pressing a button.  If there are available networks in your area the device tells you do and also shows you the signal strength based on your location.  When you’re not hunting for some free WiFi to latch on to, the detector functions as a clock.

Each bag is made from high density 600D nylon, and there are 3 new models to choose from.

The Wiffinder 10 series seem more portable, and slimmer than the other WiFi detector bags they company previously launched.  These should see a much broader appeal.

The 210 is a messenger style bag, the 310 a back pack, and the 410 a traditional briefcase.

All three bags can accommodate laptops up to a 15.6″ laptop, have plenty of storage pockets and a shoulder strap.  And all their bags come with a 36 month guarantee.

Check them all out here.

I have always had a passion for gear and gadgets. It all started for me with the release of the very first Palm Pilot. I've always had an interest in handheld electronics. From handheld PDAs, to cell phones, Mp3 players, watches and other products, I'm the first person my friends, family and colleagues call when they need advice on tech. I have roots in the online tech. forum community. I served as the Administrator to Howard Forums.com and as a Moderator at both Treo Central.com and Blackberry Forums.net. Under the screen name “lgreenberg” I've amassed 50,000+ postings. I also manage my own YouTube channel under the user name larrygreenberg. I'm always eager to help.
