Gear Diary Munk Bogballe Trumps Mac Book Air in Luxury Laptops photo

Munk Bogballe is a purveyor of fine personal computers and bags. The company was founded in London in August 2007.  At this year’s Millionaire Fair (yes, such a thing does exist) the company offered up its newest creation.  This laptop was designed with the idea of making an everyday tool an object of beauty that the users can display in any room of the house.

Four main material go into each of the computers.  The aluminum plates are available in two color options, nature and black.  The underside of the computer and the center of the computer’s top plate are covered with the finest quality of soft, European aniline leather. Only five percent of all rawhides are suitable for making leather of this quality.  The on/off buttons are available in the following choices: freshwater pearl, 18 carat gold, 18 carat gold with ruby, 18 carat gold with sapphire and 18 carat gold with diamond. Finally, the screen frame is made of sipo mahogany.

The actual hardware of the laptop is powered by an Intel core i5 processor and runs Windows 7 Home Edition and includes 4 Gigs of memory, a 500 GB hard drive, a 13.4″ screen, WiFi and Bluetooth, a built in Web-Cam and stereo speakers.

All this can be yours for the low, low price of only $7225.

They even thrown in a leather carry bag.

I have always had a passion for gear and gadgets. It all started for me with the release of the very first Palm Pilot. I've always had an interest in handheld electronics. From handheld PDAs, to cell phones, Mp3 players, watches and other products, I'm the first person my friends, family and colleagues call when they need advice on tech. I have roots in the online tech. forum community. I served as the Administrator to Howard Forums.com and as a Moderator at both Treo Central.com and Blackberry Forums.net. Under the screen name “lgreenberg” I've amassed 50,000+ postings. I also manage my own YouTube channel under the user name larrygreenberg. I'm always eager to help.

That and a virtually-edge to edge screen. How about I just get the chassis and put in better mobo/hardware (if I can find the proper pin configuration). And why the nut no Windows 7 ULTIMATE? If I’m going to fork over that much for a laptop, it better have the primo of the OS lineup.

For that much a Windoze user like myself would buy a top-of-the-line Mac. :-)
