Don’t say we didn’t warn you, but press releases have been flying off the keyboards out of Las Vegas all day. They are related to all things electronic and all electronic roads currently diverge at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas.
I scanned through few pages worth and found several related to the automotive environment. Some of the biggest news today came from Toyota and not just about the pending lawsuits.
Toyota has announced Entune, their mobile multimedia system designed to compete with the likes of Ford’s MyTouch system (which took a big hit from Consumer Reports in apparent user-unfriendliness) and GMs combination of OnStar/Bose/Navigation that has no complete interface concept.
I found a notice that NRG Energy, parent of Reliant Energy here in Texas, that they would host a presence at CES as they are launch eVgo designed to integrate electric vehicle charging into our lives. Here is a blurb I found related to this:

Next I spotted this press release and I recognized Harman, a leader in the audio industry, and Toyota, a leader in the automotive industry. Here is that release:

Whoops, that is the first release I came across. Scanning several more pages of PR clutter I discovered what I believe is the English translation:

OK, apparently that was related to the Toyota/Entune announcement. Here is their full release:

Now many of you are probably wondering (as I am) just what smartphones will work with the new Entune system. The only specific mention of a specific phone system is in the quote below:

So will it work with my iPhone? I see a partnership with “Bing” ,so my guess was probability is pretty low. But wait, I sat through the video and at the end when they demo the user app they access it via a (drumroll please) iPhone!”
