Gear Diary Mimoco Joins Forces With Warner Bros. With A Batman USB Collection photo

Why carry around a boring, old fashioned USB stick flash drive when you can spice your life up with some style.  Mimobot, who creates designer flash drives have introduced an all new line.  Teaming up with Warner Bros., the company has created a fun line of flash drives inspired by comic super heroes.  The initial release includes a really cool 1939 era Batman and will expand throughout the year.  Here is the full release along with some other designs.

(Las Vegas, NV South Hall Booth #37015 – January 6, 2011) – Mimoco, creator of the MIMOBOT® line of designer USB flash drives, and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, announce their partnership through a license agreement at the 2011 International CES (Consumer Electronics Show). The collaboration will introduce an inspired collection of iconic DC Comics’ super heroes and villains that will be translated into the unique MIMOBOT form with USB flash drive function. The designer character-based flash drive collection leads off with a vintage 1939-era Batman now available in a limited edition run of 5,000 units, and later joined by a full Batman wave of flash drive designs in February including Robin, Catwoman and The Joker. More MIMOBOT series based on additional DC Comics’ characters, including Green Lantern, Superman and The Flash, will follow in the near future.

Straight from Gotham City, the grey and black-clad Vintage Batman MIMOBOT is styled after the icon character’s first appearance in Detective Comics #27, in May 1939. Familiar yet foreign, this original vision of The Batman captures the Dark Knight’s initial bold design elements that echo the art deco and avant-garde style of the era. The Caped Crusader conceals his true identity — that of American millionaire Bruce Wayne by day, and doubling as crime fighter by night — battling evil villains like The Joker, The Penguin, Two-Face, Poison Ivy and Catwoman.

“The DC super heroes lend themselves perfectly to the collectability of MIMOBOT flash drives and Mimoco is an ideal partner that delivers wonderful products to consumers,” said Karen McTier, executive vice president of Domestic Licensing and Worldwide Marketing, Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

“We’re thrilled to join forces with Warner Bros. Consumer Products in order to incorporate these classic DC Comics characters into our latest collection,” said Evan Blaustein, CEO and founder of Mimoco. “As lifelong fans of DC super heroes, we cannot wait to bring comic book lovers a wide assortment of MIMOBOT products that will span the DC Universe, and couldn’t be happier to start with a nod to the premier Batman.”

In addition to the Batman line, Mimoco will be showcasing at their South Hall booth (#37015) other recent MIMOBOT releases, including characters from their Star Wars, tokidoki and Sanrio 50th Anniversary celebration collections. MIMOBOT designer USB flash drives come in 2GB to 16GB memory capacities and are preloaded with MimoDesk™ character-specific content that includes wallpapers, avatars, screensavers and MimoByte™ sound software.

The limited-edition vintage Batman MIMOBOT is now available exclusively at www.mimoco.com and in select retail shops including the Converse Store and Kidrobot.
