I know most of you are stuck inside looking out at the snow.  If you like to BBQ, your pit is probably frozen in a drift of snow right now.  One thing great about living in Texas is the fact that I can BBQ almost anytime of the year.  In fact, last night I grilled steaks and Brats.  Maybe that is why Texas has the best BBQ!  As a dedicated griller, the idea of joining two of my favorite hobbies, the barbecue pit and my IOS devices sounds like an amazing idea.  The iGrill does just that, allowing all of you grilling experts to prepare other dishes inside while accurately monitoring the temperature in the pit using the iPhone or iPad.

January 13, 2011, Canton, CT — iDevices www.igrillinc.com announced today that iGrill, the world’s first wireless cooking thermometer for iPod touch, iPhone and iPad via a long-range Bluetooth® and App-enabled connection, won the 6th Annual 2011 Bluetooth SIG Best of CES Awards for Best New Product. iGrill turns your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad into your own personal sous-chef, enabling you to multitask between your grill or oven and guests with the peace of mind that your food is perfectly cooked, at target temperature and safe for consumption.

Announced at the “It Won’t Stay in Vegas” Tweet House event held January 7, 2011 at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, a record number of devices were submitted for consideration from all three levels of Bluetooth SIG membership.  Each product was carefully reviewed and judged by the Bluetooth SIG based on a variety of criteria, including interoperability testing and ease of use.

A Perfectly Cooked Steak, Every Time

“iGrill is a perfect example of thinking outside of the box when it comes to Bluetooth connectivity – we enable a great deal more than just the wireless headsets so many consumers are familiar with today,” said Michael Foley, Ph.D., executive director of the Bluetooth SIG. “Bluetooth wireless technology can connect anything and improve practically any consumer electronics experience – and in this case, Bluetooth technology is making sure you have a perfectly cooked steak, every time.”

“We are extremely excited to win the 6th Annual 2011 Bluetooth SIG Best of CES Awards for Best New Product for iGrill,” said Christopher Allen, CEO, iDevices LLC.  “iGrill is taking the labor-intensity out of meal preparation and offering back the most valuable commodity of all:  Time!  The first of a suite of Apple home and lifestyle oriented products that iDevices will be developing in 2011, iGrill does much more than simply redefine how we cook and grill, it’s changing the way we socialize.”

THIS is cool. THIS is something I would actually buy. Next they need to create a remote device that tells me when my bottle of wine has breathed just the right amount of time while at the same time tells me my steak is done to perfection and that would be nirvana.
