Holy cow … we have been hearing about them eventually being available for some time, and now they are here! SanDisk has just sent notice that they have 64GB microSDXC and 64GB SDXC cards available for purchase now. Yes, you are going to pay an arm and a leg for them, but their prices don’t come anywhere near some of the ridiculous sums many of us have paid in the past! [Like the 5GB PCMCIA drive that I paid over $500 for back in 2002! Oy.]
If you are a photographer, then you’ll want to take a look at the 64GB SDXC; this card is massive (memory-wise) and it is fast! For $499.99, you get a professional-grade flash card with up to 95 MB/s and double the amount of storage previously available. I am drooling thinking about this card … and I am imagining what it would be like to not need to dump my card once while on vacation. WOW!
If you use a smartphone other than the iPhone, then you probably have a microSD slot somewhere on your device. How would you like to double your precious card’s max capacity? With the new 64GB microSDXC you can! At an MSRP of $219.99, this card almost seems like a bargain!

Preserve the Memories
: SanDisk introduced a new product that is tested to preserve images in their original quality for up to 100 years1. The SanDisk Memory Vault provides consumers with a convenient, reliable way to pass down their images for generations to come—a photo album for the digital age.
SanDisk released the results from an online survey conducted on its behalf by Harris Interactive from July 28-August 1, 2011 among 2,294 U.S. adults aged 18 and older2.
The survey found that 79 percent of U.S. adults who have digital photos plan on passing them down to future generations. Photos are so precious that 64 percent of U.S. adults would not consider destroying their family photo collection for any amount of money, not even for one million dollars.
Valuable photos deserve reliable storage solutions. SanDisk developed the SanDisk Memory Vault using Chronolock™ technology, which incorporates the key elements of advanced solid-state storage to create a proprietary memory management solution. This allows the device to provide consumers with peace of mind that their precious photos and videos will be preserved for up to 100 years. The SanDisk Memory Vault comes in 8 gigabyte3 (GB) and 16GB capacities carrying MSRPs of $49.99 and $89.99. To learn more about the online survey and the SanDisk Memory Vault, click here.
