The other day we reviewed Sena’s gorgeous Hampton Wallet for iPhone 4/4S. It is a luxurious leather case that doubles as a wallet and is a pleasure to hold and to use. Yesterday, however, I found myself a tiny bit frustrated by having to open the cover each time I wanted to access my phone. I also found that, when using the case, one handed iPhone manipulation is impossible. I still love the case but it did make me wonder what the same approach would be like if it did not have the cover. Let me introduce you to Speck’s CandyShell Card. It is an open-faced CandyShell case AND a wallet. Is it the right case for you? Read on and check out the video look.

From Speck:

Leave the wallet or purse at home! CandyShell Card lets you stash up to three cards in the built-in rubberized slot. Slide in your cards to store them securely, and pop them out with the handy thumb release when you need them.

The matte finish hard outer shell of this iPhone 4S/4 case protects against impacts and gives a little bit of grip, yet still slips easily in and out of your pockets. The rubbery lining absorbs shock and also extends to a bezel, which protects your screen if it falls screen-first, and gives it no-slip stability when you place it face down.

Video Review:

The CandyShell Card doesn’t have the “Wow!” factor that comes with the aforementioned Sena Hampton Wallet. At the same time, because it leaves the iPhone screen open it is more convenient to use. If you don’t need more than a license, a credit card and a bit of cash it might be ideal for you. As it is, however, I have reduced the contents of my wallet but still need more space that the CandyShell Card offers. You can check out the Speck CandyShell Card and order your own here on the Speck website.

MSRP: $39.95

What I Like: iPhone case and wallet in one; Lets you use the iPhone with one hand; Lay-on-the-table protection; under $40

What Needs Improvement: Only holds three cards; Not luxurious like the Sena Hampton Wallet
