Gear Diary CES: Liquid Image Announces HD Video Snow Goggles And Mountable Sports Cameras photo

The only thing bigger today than extreme sports, is extreme sports videos. The internet is full of amazing video footage of talented and sometimes crazy people hitting the big trick or conquering a huge slope. We seem to have begun to video everything we do and it often produces some pretty entertaining footage. Myself and several buddies have begun filming our deer and turkey hunts, editing them into full episode, high definition presentations of our adventures. In fact, the ability to film my own hunts is something I have struggled with using my current set up. Dragging a tripod by myself out to a tree stand or ground blind is not always possible while bow hunting. Liquid Image has unveiled two amazing products that allow adventurers to create their own stunning HD video footage. I could see the Ego sports camera revolutionizing the way I record my solo hunts! Read on for images and press release excerpts.

Liquid Image developed the EGO for sports that do not utilize goggles and additionally to meet the needs of riders who were using more than one camera to capture their sport.  Many sport enthusiasts now utilize Liquid Image video goggles for their POV shots along with a mountable camera on their bikes, boards, and other sports equipment. The different camera angles captured can be combined during editing to create a more complete picture of the experience.  Usually, the mountable camera is used to place the user in the shot – hence the name Ego.

The EGO, model 727, is priced affordably with a SRP of $149. The camera will be available in a variety of colors and is estimated to begin shipping in June 2012.
