JumpFromPaper Bags Really DO Make Real Life Feel Like a Cartoon

Safari

Judie posted on these über-cool JumpFromPaper bags the other day. As she wrote,

I loved the way “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” (1988) and “Cool World” (1992) mixed cartoon elements into a real-world backdrop. I enjoyed the same effect as a kid, watching older Disney movies such as Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Song of the South. There’s just something quirky and irresistible about imagining a world where cartoons can come to life; anything can happen!

The bags are the creation of design duo, Chay Su and Rika Lin. They have produced a line of travel, camera, laptop and general gear bags which look like props from a cartoon. They look amazing, but the question remained… were they real? Would they look as cool in real life?

You judge!!

They ship in a cool, flat box. As Elana said, “Even the packaging is offbeat!”

The interior packaging is also pretty unique. And the bags…

They really do look like they jumped right off the page of a cartoon.

The bags — or at least, this particular bag — don’t have much interior space; they are styled as 2-dimensional, so that shouldn’t be too big of a surprise.

And the small extra pocket on the back helps a bit. So if you want something really different, and you mostly need to carry papers or a tablet… you should check out the entire line here on JumpFromPaper.

  1. Okay, I am the person who ordered FOUR of them because I wanted to see what they looked like in person.
I am, in a word … impressed. They don’t hold much — depending upon the size of the bag you go from absolute necessities (wallet, keys, lip balm) to possibly a notebook computer/tablet. They are bright, colorful, and they POP with 2D style.

There *is* a zipper on the bottom which is cleverly hidden, and you can keep it zipped shut for true 2D or you can unzip to make the bag more practical; unzipped the bag is still slim, but you can carry more. They seem to be really well made; they are also cute as hell. =)I’m not yet sure if these bags are for *me*, but they are incredibly creative and fun. I suspect that teens would kill for them. 😉

    • I’m going to find a place in the next week to use the ONE I bought just because I want to see people’s reactions to it!! Great find Judie… Thanks.

      • I’m bringing one to Vegas, and I *may* bring one when we are liveblogging at the Dell event during fashion week … or I’ll steal yours if you aren’t using it. It looks longer than any I ordered! 😉
