This isn’t an uncommon exchange these days …

The other person says, “Dan, let me make a copy of this document for you.”

To which I reply, “No need.” as I pull out my iPhone or iPad, fire up the Scanner Pro app and snap a picture of the document or picture in question.

Yes, who needs photocopiers when you can quickly and easily snap a picture with a high-quality phone or tablet camera? And as apps like Readdle’s Scanner Pro for iOD becoming increasingly powerful this unexpected use for mobile devices will only grow.

The latest update to Scanner Pro brought an updated UI and iCloud integration. The UI update makes the app even easier to use and helps ensure that if you use it on one device you will have the same experience an another. (Makes sense since so many of us have an iPhone AND and iPad.) As the company notes,

Experience the same great scanning experience across all your iOS devices. Scanner Pro 4.1 has been completely redesigned to focus on the most important feature – scanning your documents, and making that process faster and easier than before. With the latest update for Scanner Pro 4.1 for iPhone, we have made sure the design and features match on both devices.

In addition, the update to Scanner Pro 4.1 adds iCloud sync. This is key since many of us are increasingly reliant on iCloud as the way to quickly and invisibly ensure that content on one device is also available on another. And while DropBox is nice, for those of us who live in the world of iOS and OS X iCloud is quickly becoming the standard thanks to its automatic sync once the initial setup — consisting of “Yes, I want to use iCloud” — is completed.

As Readdle explains,

Store your scanned documents in the cloud and synchronize across all your devices. iCloud sync in Scanner Pro 4.1 brings convenient access to all your documents on your iPhone or iPad. When you take a picture on your iPhone, seconds later it can be accessed on your iPad and vice versa. Everything happens automatically, just sign in and enjoy!

The Scanner Pro update adds more power than ever to an already great app. You can grab it here in the App Store.
