I reviewed the Steinheil GLAS.t for iPhone 4 and 4S. (Read it, here.) I also reviewed the Steinheil GLAS.t for iPad. (Read it, here.) In both cases the tempered glass screen protector immediately won me over. I loved knowing that my iPhone and iPad screens were protected behind a layer of tempered glass.
But you know what I loved even more? I loved the fact that if you didn’t know the screen protector was there, you would never guess it was anything more than the actual screen. Yes, the GLAS.t is THAT good and THAT transparent. (It’s pricey but good.)
Well the company must be pretty confident with regard to iPhone 5 rumors. Why? Because they have already announced GLAS.t for the iPhone 5! Here’s what they have to say about the $27.99 screen protector:
Steinheil GLAS.t is made to protect the LCD from damage and scratches with specially processed glass that has been reinforced to increase shock absorbency. The entire surface of the GLAS.t is transparent and the back side is covered with a strong silicon adhesive for easy installation. When installed, there are no gaps between the LCD and the GLAS.t which means the touch screen’s sensitivity is unaffected. To prevent any excess force from coming in contact with the edges of the screen protector we highly recommend that a case is used with the GLAS.t.
Whole Transparency : GLAS.t is 0.4mm thick and made with chemically treated, transparent tempered glass.
Surface hardness : 8~9H : The surface of the GLAS.t has a hardness of 8-9H, three times stronger than regular PET film. Even shard objects such as knives and keys will not scratch the GLAS.t.
Oleophobic Coating : The GLAS.t has an oleophobic coating that prevents fingerprints and other contaminants and makes the film easy to clean.
Delicate Touch : The GLAS.t is coated on the back with a strong silicon adhesive that makes installation easy and attaches the film firmly so as to not affect the touch screen’s sensitivity.
Anti-Shatter Film : If broken, the GLAS.t breaks into small pieces that are not sharp, making it safer than other glass products.
Actually, the company must be really, really confident with regard to the rumors because…
They gave me one at Showstopper’s last night! Yup, the new iPhone hasn’t even been announced yet and Spigen SGP has already released this product for it.
As you can see, they are expecting the iPhone 5 to have a bit of a screen size difference from the iPhone 4/4s.
And you can order risk free because, if you order one now and the iPhone 5 has different from expected dimensions, the company will either replace it with one that fits properly or refund your money. Order yours here.
And the GLAS.t isn’t the only iPhone 5 product they are offering.
They are also offering the SPIGEN SGP Crumena pouch. We reviewed the version for the HTC One X. (Read the review.) This version for the iPhone takes everything that was good about that case and… makes it better. The Crumena pouch
a genuine calf skin leather case for the iPhone 5 that protects the device against damage, dirt, and dust. The inner layer is made from a soft material that prevents scratches. On the back of the case is a tab to make removing the iPhone 5 easier. The tab is made wider on the iPhone 5 Crumena to prevent the strap from being twisted while the phone is out of the pouch. Additionally, the strap is made with leather to match the rest of the pouch for a seamless and luxurious look. One unique characteristic of the Crumena is the embedded magnet that keeps the iPhone 5 firmly in the case when not in use. If you like the feel of the iPhone in your hand without the added bulk of a case, the Crumena Pouch is the perfect companion. The slim pouch protects your device from being scratched or accidental drops while giving off a stylish and professional look.
I spent some time checking out all of the different colors and it looks and feels great.
We’re looking forward to reviewing both in the near future.
