Gear Diary U.S. Cellular Announces Availability of Samsung Galaxy Note II in Late October photo

This morning we heard from Samsung that they have coordinated with all five major U.S. carriers to bring the massive Samsung Galaxy Note II to market; now we have heard plans from U.S. Cellular to launch the phone in late October! U.S. Cellular is planning to have the 16 GB Titanium Gray device, and it will be $299.99 with an instant rebate for those who preorder it. Otherwise there is a $100 mail-in rebate to drop the price to $299.99.

The Galaxy Note 2 is the successor to the popular ‘phablet’ that was huge for a phone but small for a tablet yet found a solid global audience. The new version increases the screen size to 5.5 inches (from 5.3), has full 4G LTE support, quad-core Exynos processor, and a 16×9 aspect ratio that makes the screen narrower but taller. The device runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but is heavily layered with TouchWiz and S-Pen applications.

It is a great looking device that will be in high demand!

Pre-sales begin today at U.S. Cellular!
