There are plenty Bluetooth speakers on the market. Now a new company, NYNE, has released a series of speakers designed for an “active life-style”. Their NB-200 and NB-230 Bluetooth speakers
provide in-home quality audio through either a wireless connection with any Bluetooth enabled device, or a 3.5mm aux-in cable connection with a non-Bluetooth device. Their stylish and portable form allows for music enjoyment on-the-go both indoors and outdoors.
Here’s a look at both.
There’s the NB-200. It is
designed to be taken with you wherever you go and can be attached to a bike or baby stroller handlebars with its included custom clips. It also features a built-in splash-proof microphone for hands-free calling and a rechargeable lithium ion battery for up to 5 hours of playtime.
The speaker has an airtight housing that offers big sound in a small, easy-to-carry package. And, as the company notes,
you can use NB-200′s powerful, built-in microphone for hands-free and conference calling. Charge your NB-200 using your USB connection, and synch your iPod, iPhone, or iPad via Bluetooth. Start experiencing cordless, crisp, grab-and-go sound for up to five hours with the rechargeable lithium batteries. All of this in the ultra mobile NB-200, a powerful light and compact design proving that good things do come in small packages.
All of this in a package that is under $130.
Then there is the NB-230. It includes
a hidden carrying handle so it can be easily carried to the pool, beach, campground or tailgate. Its two full-range speakers and innovative passive radiator make the NB-230 the 21st century boombox.
The NYNE NB-230 is a radical re-imagining of the boombox that uses advanced acoustic engineering to produce the quality of in-home audio while providing portability.
The NB-230 has two full-range speakers housed in “modern light weight materials”. It offers up to five hours of battery life!
It too can function as a speakerphone. The NB-230 has an MSRP of $149.95.
The speakers look great, although I am surprised they use Bluetooth 2.1 rather than 3.1 or 4.0. Still, if you want a small speaker that can go pretty much anywhere you want to go, then these just might be for you. You can learn more on the NYNE site at www.nyne.com.
