Gear Diary Satechi X Pointer Laser Presenter for IOS6 Now Available photo

When I was a kid, my dad had one of those extendable pointer things, and it just fascinated me.  It was the size of your average ballpoint pen, but you pulled on the end, and suddenly you had a pointer that was about a yard long.  It was shiny!  It seemed like something James Bond might have.  I probably played with it way too much, in the manner of over-curious kids everywhere.

Well now they don’t have those, we got us some laser pointers.  And in the smart phone world, with a little software help, you can marry your iPhone to your laser pointer for presentations yo:

Satechi, a mobile accessories manufacturer, announces the availability of the X-Pointer mobile presenter and Stylus Touch Pen for iPhone.   The X-Pointer is controlled via the X-Presenter app giving users the freedom to scroll through PowerPoint or Keynote presentation slides and easily direct the audience’s attention using the included red laser. http://www.youtube.com/xpointer

The X-Presenter App activates the X-Pointer’s red laser which is attached to iPhone via the 3.5mm jack.  Additionally, the X-Presenter app can take full control over the computer’s mouse with the app’s Mouse Mode function making it the ideal all-in-one solution for business people on the go.
At just 1.6 inches in length and weighing only an ounce, the X-Pointer is small enough to be stored almost anywhere. The included Stylus Touch Pen doubles as a storage compartment for the X-Pointer laser when not in use and as a precise touch-screen navigation tool.  The Stylus Touch Pen also includes a rubber 3.5mm jack to affix the laser and pointer to the iPhone when not in use.

The Satechi X-Pointer is available for an introductory price of $29.99 at Satechi.net and Amazon.com.  The X-Presenter app is available for free at the Apple App Store.
