Today the DROID DNA by HTC was announced, and it will be available before the end of the month.

The DROID DNA by HTC features a vibrant 5-inch Full HD 1080p super LCD 3 screen that rivals traditional HDTV’s. At 440 PPI, the screen packs the highest pixel density available on a smartphone. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core 1.5GHz processor and backed by Verizon’s 4G LTE network speeds, the DROID DNA by HTC delivers optimal performance you can count on.

The Droid DNA will include a rear facing 8-megapixel f/2.0 28mm wide-angle lens, HTC ImageSense, the HTC ImageChip, a 2.1MP front-facing camera, and Beats Audio. It will also have a  2,020 mAh battery, 2G of RAM, and it will be running the latest Android™ 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean).

Sounds pretty spiffy, right? If you are eager to get your hands on one, you can pre-order starting today at www.verizonwireless.com/droiddna. The DROID DNA will be $199.99 with a two-year customer agreement.

I was due for a upgrade, so I’m glad that Verizon got the DNA. I think the Droid DNA has more than enough speed and power to back up the 1080p display. I have a DNA, and I can’t begin to explain how good shows look on it. I like using the DISH Remote Access app, which lets me stream live TV through the Sling Adapter I have connected to my receiver. The app is useful when I can’t be home to watch my shows since it works anywhere. One of my DISH coworkers also has a Droid DNA, and we can both agree that there is no better phone to
    watch TV on.
