One of our Newsletter Underwriters, Sena, has rolled out a new series of cases for the iPhone 5. Some styles are similar to those available for the iPhone 4S but updated for the new design of the iPhone 5. Others are brand new. All of them will impress anyone who wants to protect their iPhone in gorgeous leather. The company sent a selection of cases to us for review, and we’ll be taking a look at them in the coming days.

First up, the Sena Cases Hampton Wallet for iPhone 5. This case, at just under $60, is perfect for someone who wants a wallet-style iPhone case and who doesn’t mind no longer having immediate access to the iPhone’s screen.

From Sena:

Functional Fashion, the Hampton Flip is for those who prefer an upscale luxurious full-grain leather case while maintaining the versatility of a wallet.

Here’s our video look.

I like the look and feel of the Hampton Wallet. While I tend to prefer leather that is simpler – read, less embossed – than this particular sample, it has grown on me a bit since first receiving it. My biggest issue isn’t the material, as always Sena does an amazing job with that, but rather, something that is completely subjective — I’m just not a huge fan of cases that make me work quite so much. Having to snap and unsnap the closure each time I want to access my iPhone is too much of a pain for me. While I LOVE the feel of carrying my iPhone in this case, the aesthetics simply don’t outweigh the convenience. This is, as noted, entirely subjective. If you don’t mind the snap and you want a wallet-style case you can’t go wrong here. If, however, you are like me, you will want to check out our look at the Magia Wallet for iPhone 5 when it goes live tomorrow. MSRP: $59.95

What I Like: Sena quality materials and build; Great protection for your iPhone; Lets you carry some cards and a driver’s license

What Needs Improvement: Can be a pain to open and close it if you are constantly checking your iPhone
