Gear Diary NAVITEL® Announces Release of Latin America Navigation Maps photo

When I was a kid, I sometimes thought about being an explorer.  You know, sort of like the kid at the beginning of the movie “Up.”  You know:  Hacking through the untamed jungles of South America, searching for the source of the Amazon!  Or something!  And of course when I got a little older, I found that almost every place to explore had already been explored (to the point were nowadays people are doing the same thing they did 100 years ago, only making it deliberately difficult for themselves, like trekking solo to the South Pole or climbing Everest without oxygen or whatever).  Now, of course, you can practically explore the whole planet without leaving your chair, including the streets of South American cities with the latest releases from Navitel:

NAVITEL® map coverage has extended: company announces the release of official navigation Latin America maps with online services “Navitel.Traffic”, “Navitel.SMS”, “Navitel.Events”, “Navitel.Weather” and “Dynamic POI” support on the territory of all countries!

Doug is a nerd from way back, falling for a Commodore PET at the age of 15, and never looking back. Riding the nerd wave, he got a Computer Science degree and entered the tech industry at a young age, deciding after a year and a half of front-line phone technical support that he should try something, *anything* else. He settled on technical writing, and has been cranking out documentation for companies like Unisys, SGI, Cisco, Juniper, and many others ever since. He is nothing short of ecstatic to be working for H-P from his home base in Austin.
