Tokyoflash is taking it all the way to the wire this year with some of the latest designs to hit their shelves. A press release this morning reveals yet another concept to reality release naming the “Kisai Spider LCD.” Inspired by a spider web like design the front of the watch has a hexagonal shape and the display is a transparent LCD with four layers of rigs that reveal the time in an almost cryptic way.

The coolest part about this watch is that the display is transparent, so you can actually see right through the smoked lens as if the time were floating off your wrist. The thick stainless steel case comes in brushed or black stainless and with 4 LCD colors to choose from.

“The innovative Kisai Spider watch uses transparent LCD to create the illusion that time is floating on your wrist. Inspired by the concentric rings of a spider’s web, four numbers, arranged from large to small, display the digital time in an original and intuituve way.”

Kisai Spider also has a custom programmed animation which imitates a spider’s web being spun – this appears every 15 minutes and can be turned on or off in the settings.

Another creation just in time for the holidays. I really appreciate when these watches make reading the time almost cryptic. I think it adds more to the watch when looking even though it’s actually pretty simple to glance at the time once you know how. I really like the thick casing of the watch face and the fact that the display is actually transparent through the face. This is definitely a little different from most of the designs we’ve seen this year from Tokyoflash which definitely adds some great diversity to the portfolio. I’m convinced at this point with all the watches released this year there is definitely a design out there for everyone.  The introductory price for this watch is $159 if purchased within the next two days, afterwards the price jumps up $20 to $179. This qualifies you for free shipping anywhere in the world and a good possibility to make it to your place before the 25th. Check out the site for more info or the gallery below for some more shots of the Kisai Spider.
