Gear Diary Olive Unveils ONE Home Music Player Powered by the Crowd photo

For almost as long as I can remember, “home entertainment centers” have only gotten bigger as we’ve marched down the years, at least the audio portions of them.  Then, sometime around 1980 so with the advent of the DVD (and a push from the WalkMan), stuff started shrinking.  Now, of course, you can pack movies, TV shows, and your whole library of songs into a gadget the size of a pack of cigarettes.  (Not that anyone smokes any more.  But I digress.)  And the Olive One is an attempt to put your old home entertainment system, music-wise, into one place:

Doug is a nerd from way back, falling for a Commodore PET at the age of 15, and never looking back. Riding the nerd wave, he got a Computer Science degree and entered the tech industry at a young age, deciding after a year and a half of front-line phone technical support that he should try something, *anything* else. He settled on technical writing, and has been cranking out documentation for companies like Unisys, SGI, Cisco, Juniper, and many others ever since. He is nothing short of ecstatic to be working for H-P from his home base in Austin.
