Gear Diary Griffin Technology Rolls Out Rugged Accessories and Power Options photo

I suspect that, with all the rechargeable-but-power-hungry gadgets coming out all the time, something you’re going to see a lot of–at least until some genius perfects the Shipstone or equivalent–is power tech.  As our intrepid CES band knows all too well, keeping your gadgets powered up and ready to go is a key in this era of portable computing.  Personally, I bring along my Belkin 1-7 USB adapter whenever I travel.  Yeah, it adds some bulk to what I have to lug around, but it’s a lot less bulky than trying to bring along 7-10 separate power adapters, and then hunting around my motel/hotel room behind furniture for places to plug them in.  Yes, hotels–especially in tech-heavy locations–are getting better at supplying jacks, but it’s still best to be prepared.

And Griffin is right there trying to help out (along with offering other helpful stuff); one of the items is a solution for storing and charging up to five iPads simultaneously!  I mean, look at that picture up there, right?  I don’t know how easy it would be to travel with such a thing but again, it beats hauling around 5 separate power adapters, don’t you think?  So take a look at the Griffin Technology site, and check out their offerings.  And if you do, be sure to let us know what you think below!

Doug is a nerd from way back, falling for a Commodore PET at the age of 15, and never looking back. Riding the nerd wave, he got a Computer Science degree and entered the tech industry at a young age, deciding after a year and a half of front-line phone technical support that he should try something, *anything* else. He settled on technical writing, and has been cranking out documentation for companies like Unisys, SGI, Cisco, Juniper, and many others ever since. He is nothing short of ecstatic to be working for H-P from his home base in Austin.
