Gear Diary Opera Brings More Comfort to the Living Room photo

So when I see the word “Opera”, I think of two things immediately: First (because I’m a technonerd), I think of the Web browser.  Second, it’s the musical form, which –other than Les Miserables — I simply can’t stand.  Now, I’m not saying that opera as a musical form sucks, or is pointless, or anything like that.  No, not at all.  Nor am I ignorant of it; I tried listening to a lot of opera, reading up on it, doing my research, and everything else that would allow me to enjoy it.  I just don’t.  To each their own.

And if you’re not into the musical form either you’re in luck, ’cause this time we’re talking about the browser, and how the good folks at Opera have integrated their products and jazzed them up a bit and are showing them off at CES.

With an enhanced Opera TV Store and Opera Devices SDK, Opera is shaping a new way to be entertained in the living room. Here’s how Opera has spiced up these products with recent improvements: The new Opera TV Store, Support for YouTube Leanback, and More standards for content makers. So if that sounds interesting, then visit www.opera.com/tv/ to learn more..  And after you do, make sure to tell us what you think below!

Doug is a nerd from way back, falling for a Commodore PET at the age of 15, and never looking back. Riding the nerd wave, he got a Computer Science degree and entered the tech industry at a young age, deciding after a year and a half of front-line phone technical support that he should try something, *anything* else. He settled on technical writing, and has been cranking out documentation for companies like Unisys, SGI, Cisco, Juniper, and many others ever since. He is nothing short of ecstatic to be working for H-P from his home base in Austin.
