When I was a kid, there weren’t a lot of electronics stores. Heck, electronics as an industry was really in its infancy. So, the only place to see gear that we would consider “tech” nowadays was at department stores. And, whenever my mom or dad dragged me to a Sears, I wanted to go to the section that had the stereos and TVs, because it fed my developing nerdy soul.
Now, when I see what we used to consider an “appliance company”, demoing new products–TVs, TV gear, refrigerators, I think of those days wandering around Sears, seeing row upon row of TVs; I am very glad that I am alive now! But, there is still a need for that type of gear, which is why companies like Hisense exist.
