Gear Diary Lexar High Performance microSDHC UHS I Memory Cards Offer Uninterrupted HD and 3D Video Capture photo

In the run-up to the release of the first iPhone, I was trying to decide which model to get; getting half the memory would mean $100 savings.  And even in these times where Presidential candidates make casual $10,000 bets, 100 smackers is still a good chunk of money to the average Joe (or Doug).  But Judie offered me a wise piece of advice:  Get as much memory as you can, because you always end up needing more.  And it ain’t just with iPhone, is it?  Even in our cloud-connected days, you end up needing more memory.  Which leads us right to Lexar, who has just released a High-Performance microSDHC(TM) UHS-I card with transfer speeds up to 600x (90MB per second). This card will capture and store up to 4 hours of HD video; 12,900 photos; or 7,400 songs. This card will come with an ultra-compact USB 3.0 reader “that lets users achieve the maximum performance of the 600x card during transfer of their photos and videos from the card to a PC or Mac(R) computer quickly and easily. The reader is also backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports.”

Tthe Lexar High-Performance microSDHC UHS-I card has MSRPs of $39.99 (16GB) and $69.99 (32GB), and these new cards will be available for purchase from Lexar.com and leading e-tail outlets worldwide. For more information about Lexar, visit www.lexar.com. Do you need some memory?  (No, not that kind; we’re not in Johnny Mnemonic territory yet!)  Surf on over and check it out.  And if you get yourself some, be sure to let us know what you think below!

Doug is a nerd from way back, falling for a Commodore PET at the age of 15, and never looking back. Riding the nerd wave, he got a Computer Science degree and entered the tech industry at a young age, deciding after a year and a half of front-line phone technical support that he should try something, *anything* else. He settled on technical writing, and has been cranking out documentation for companies like Unisys, SGI, Cisco, Juniper, and many others ever since. He is nothing short of ecstatic to be working for H-P from his home base in Austin.
