As you might expect of two over-educated people in their late 20s contemplating marriage, when Sami and I were out shopping for her engagement ring together — yes, we did it together! — the first thing we did was read up on rings, diamonds, jewelry, and like topics. We familiarized ourselves with diamond nomenclature regarding clarity, color, and I don’t even remember how many other arcane diamond-related topics. It was a bit of a pain, no question, but we did end up with a very nice ring for Sami.
But this is the Internet era, so instead of reading magazine articles and books and cross-examining jewelers, there are web sites:
James Allen’s new website provides a genuine alternative to the outdated practices of other online jewelers. By empowering customers with the ability to view actual diamonds, James Allen is bringing a new era of transparency to online diamond retail.
Thinking about getting a diamond, or an engagement ring that has a diamond? Do you want to do it in the privacy of your own home, without an over-eager salesperson trying to talk you into a larger purchase than you might otherwise have made? Surf on over and check out the site, and let us know if shopping for diamonds over the internet is something that you would be comfortable with.
