The HTC One stands out as a phone that is built like a piece of jewelry. It has a “full-metal, zero-gap unibody design” that looks and feels as solid as any phone you have ever held. It competes with, and may surpass, the iPhone 5 when it comes to its build. I’ve been using my review sample for a week, and I still marvel at it each time I pull the device out of my pocket!

Just look how gorgeous this hardware is!!!

As you can see from the retail box, the HTC One has some great specs. Sporting a quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM the phone is fast! 32GB of non-expandable storage is a bit of a letdown, but the gorgeous 4.7″ 1080p Full HD screen with 468PPI helps make up for it!

I’ve just begun testing the camera but, overall, I’m impressed. HTC describes the phone as offering “a breakthrough camera”; it shoots hi-resolution images and has a special feature — Zoe — that lets pictures come to life. We’ll have more on it as we do additional testing.

I’ve always liked HTC Sense and the addition of HTC’s BlinkFeed is terrific. I’m not a fan of Facebook Home, but I am appreciating BlinkFeed. It has some of the same conceptual features, but it offers more control over what is shown upon waking the phone; it doesn’t attempt to take over the entire phone the way Facebook Home does.

Like last year’s HTC One X, the HTC One has BeatsAudio to enhance the multi-media experience, but that’s only part of the story.

The HTC One is the first phone with dual front-facing stereo speakers with HTC BoomSound. How do they sound? The HTC One is the best sounding handset I have ever used. Period.

HTC is celebrating the arrival of the HTC One with exclusive concerts produced by Live Nation with performances by Pharrell in New York and Grouplove in Chicago tonight. The audience will be limited to 1,000 fans and, as such, create “an intimate, once-in-a-lifetime experience for attendees”. An additional performance will take place in Los Angeles next Thursday featuring Manchester Orchestra. (One of Judie’s favorites!)

Here are some of the details on the availability of the silver new HTC One:

AT&T: Online and in retail with 32GB of memory for $199.99, or online with 64GB of memory for $299.99 with a two-year commitment.

Sprint: Online and in retail with 32GB of memory for $199.99 with a two-year commitment.
Best Buy, Radio Shack, Walmart, Target, Amazon.com, Costco, Car Toys, Sam’s Club, HSN.com and HTC.com.

Coming soon to T-Mobile in silver with 32GB of memory, and available in the coming weeks in black at AT&T and Sprint with 32GB of memory.

As I noted in the beginning, if you want an Android handset that is solid, gorgeous, fast and sounds great … you want the HTC One! We’ll have a full review soon.
