The Lowepro Urban Reporter 150. Small and light but still serious about photography.

Lowepro just announced there new line of Urban Reporter Camera Messenger bags. The line includes the Urban Reporter 150, Urban Reporter 250 and the Urban Reporter 350 and prices range from $119.99 to $159.99. The Urban Reporter 150 is the perfect bag for the photographer who wants to grab a tablet and travel light. Check it out.

We reviewed the Urban Reporter 250 and were impressed. The bag is light, has great style, offers a good amount of flexibility and makes carrying a 13″ laptop, camera gear and accessories an absolute pleasure. For those who want to travel a bit lighter the Urban Reporter 150 may be just the thing. Sporting the same design as the 250, it is a small bag that is, according to Lowepro, “for photographers looking to travel light and carry their Mirrorless or DSLR camera.” With the 150 you can, for example, carry a DSLR such as Nikon D7100, an extra lens, a 10″ Tablet, accessories and small personal items.

The flexible design of the bags in the Urban Reporter line means you can carry your camera gear and “mobile photography lab” (aka your tablet or laptop) or, by removing the camera insert, convert the bag into a standard messenger bag. Features are the same across the line.

I like the Urban Reporter 250 but really see the smaller 150 as the standout in this line. After all, tablets are so powerful, and photo-editing apps so abundant, that it is the only thing you really need to keep with you to edit and share on the go. Plus, the smaller size means you can still travel super-light without having to make any compromises. I’m impressed.

As I noted in the review of the Urban Reporter 250,

The Lowepro Urban Reporter line of camera messenger bags is a great addition to their lineup of bags. Its clean lines, understated look, and flexibility make it a bag I’m truly enjoying.

MSRP: Urban Reporter 150- $119.99; Urban Reporter 250- $139.99; Urban Reporter 350- $159.99

What I Like: Great clean look; Light weight but tough; Just enough organization built into it; Camera insert is removable; Use as a standard messenger or as a camera bag

What Needs Improvement: Main flap secured with buckles that are a bit cumbersome; Hand and shoulder straps are not removable
