starwarstinydeathstarDeveloper NimbleBit has teamed up with Disney and LucasArts to bring you Star Wars: Tiny Death Star, where you take the helm of the Death Star in order to build, develop, and prepare the planet-sized Death Star.  The gameplay is extremely similar to NimbleBit’s Tiny Tower.  It’s available for free on the App Store, Google Play, and Windows Store.

You hire outer space “bitizens” in order to build the commercial and residential floors of the Death Star.  Like many freemium games, Star Wars: Tiny Death Star employs the use of premium currency that help speed up certain in-game actions.  On the Death Star, the premium currency is called “Imperial Bux.”  If you’re a fan of Tiny Tower as well as a fan of the Star Wars series, you owe it to yourself to check this game out.  If you’re not yet convinced, check out the trailer below.

I'm an architect by trade, but the overarching theme of my life has always been trying to keep up with the newest, coolest technology. Ever since I picked up an NES controller, I've been hooked on the latest and greatest gadgets, gizmos, and toys. Whether it's gaming, mobile phones, and accessories, or PCs and Apple products, I'm interested. I use many Apple products in my daily life, such as the iPhone, iPad, and my MacBook Pro. I've also built a few PCs in my day, so I'd like to say that I'm a pretty well-rounded techie.

  1. I saw that this morning and thought it looked like a blast. I downloaded it, but haven’t had the chance to try it out yet. Hope it is as fun as it looks!

    • Have you played Tiny Tower? If you enjoyed Tiny Tower, you’ll love this. Unfortunately, these freemium games typically only hold my attention for a couple of days. Though the addition of characters from the Star Wars universe is a fun touch. There’s just only so many times I want to wait a couple of hours for a new floor to be built.

  2. Running your own Death Star…what could be better. 🙂
