Yesterday we took a look at x-doria’s Scene Plus for iPhone 5C. It will come as little surprise that the company is also offering a case with this great design for the iPhone 5S. We have one of the nicely protective, very cool-looking cases in hand and thought we might take a look. At under $30 they are a great deal.

I like the look of the x-doria Scene Plus for iPhone 5S and appreciate the degree of protection it offers. I also like the price. Here’s what x-doria has to say about it:

Scene Plus is fantastic protection, accented by new 3D patterns. Designed to look great no matter which color iPhone you have, Scene Plus features three unique patterns, exclusive to X-Doria, each created by a multi-layer printing process. The result is a subtle but eye-catching effect caused by the depth of the prints and brightness of colors. This 3D process makes the patterns truly appear to shift and move as you view the case from different angles. The richness of the colors stand out to finish the appeal of our latest offering. Scene Plus also includes a wrap around, rubber bumper that features a front, raised bezel to protect your screen from table tops and other potential hazards. Volume and lock buttons are covered and protected as well by the grippy, rubber frame. With all of this, Scene Plus is a very slim-fitting case that keeps you iPhone protected yet pocketable.

The case features:

  • Exclusive, multi-layer, stand out patterns
  • Hard outer shell to shield against impact
  • Soft rubber bumper protects against jolts
  • Protects volume and lock buttons
  • Raised front bezel helps protect your iPhone screen

From the front the case adds just enough visual interest. It also adds some lay-on-the-table protection although I wouldn’t rely on it too heavily and would, instead, do me best to always place the phone down screen up.

Like the version for the iPhone 5C the x-doria Scene Plus for iPhone 5S covers the volume buttons but leave the mute toggle open and exposed. The x-doria name is subtly embossed into the lower portion of the case.

The bottom of the phone is also well-protected by the case with openings for all the relevant portions perfectly-positioned.

Available in three styles, the x-doria Scene Plus for iPhone 5S offers an unusual visual that takes a rather simple and inexpensive case to an entirely different level. It looks great, offers good protection and is under $30. I just wish the company saw fit to include a screen protector with it. Check out all the designs here.

MSRP: $29.99

What I Like: Good protection; Cool look; Some lay-on-the-table-protection; Great price

What Needs Improvement: No included screen protection
