Today Amazon announced Fire TV, a 1080p streaming set-top box. Fire TV is available for shipment starting today and sells for $99. Amazon is touting the voice search, Prime integration, and access to the most popular services as well as gaming. They also emphasize the ease of setting the system up, getting online and getting right to your favorite content!

Video games are also a key feature: Amazon is offering a $39.99 controller that allows you to play a number of supported games including Minecraft and Asphalt 8.

  1. I bought one last night, and I am excited about it … but I am bummed that it trades Showtime Anytime for HBO Go. I guess that we’ll always have to have two streaming boxes in the living room to get everything. =P
