Kickstarter Campaign Says Letter Writing Isn’t Dead

Some crowdfunded projects are wacky, some of them are cool, and some of them are just downright charming. That’s definitely the case for the World’s Smallest Post Service DIY Activity Kit currently on Kickstarter, which aims to bring back letter writing!

Your $29 pledge gets a complete letter and package kit in miniature, with enough materials for 24 letters, 6 packages, and one very cute 3D mailbox. The $49 deluxe option includes more stationery, security envelopes, and three rubber stamps.

We’re not just talking small here, we’re talking tiny–the stationery sheets measure 1 x 1.375 inches, and once sealed in an envelope, the letters measure 1 x 0.5 inches!

It’s a clever idea and a great reminder that real mail isn’t quite dead yet. The Kickstarter page suggests the World’s Smallest Post Office DIY Activity Kit for couples, for pen pals, for encouraging kids to write letters, secret admirers, etc. Just because the world is going digital at a breakneck pace it doesn’t mean that we don’t still appreciate getting mail–especially something handcrafted like this.

If you want to get in on the tiny mail revolution, you have another 23 days to do so. The project has already surpassed its original $10,000 goal, and backer rewards are expected to deliver in September.
