TYLT RIBBN 4.8A Car Charger with Flat Ribbon Cable Review

TYLT is one of my favorite mobile accessory companies. They make bright, functional accessories that consistently work as promised. This time out we are taking a look at the new TYLT RIBBN 4.8A Car Charger with Flat Ribbon Cable. This is, to be honest, the car charging system I have been waiting for. Here’s why.

TYLT RIBBN 4.8A Car Charger with Flat Ribbon Cable Review
The car charger comes in four bright colors and is the perfect car charger for the mobile road warrior. The three foot cable is a flat, tangle free offering that will get the job done without becoming a knotted mess. It comes as either an Apple-sporting Lightning cable or a universal microUSB. More on that in a moment.

TYLT RIBBN 4.8A Car Charger with Flat Ribbon Cable Review
I like TYLT’s use of the thick flat “cable” for many of their charging solutions. It doesn’t tangle, it look, feels, and is rugged and thanks to the thickness and bright colors, it is always easy to find.

The long length of the TYLT RIBBN 4.8A Car Charger with Flat Ribbon Cable makes it effective regardless of where the power port in your car might be. I, for one, was worried that it would not work in my car due to the power ports being inside the center console. Fortunately I was still able to close the top and have it lock into position.

The extra USB port on the charger is an added bonus. It means you can not only charge the device that is connected to the RIBBN portion of the accessory, but you can also add your own cable and charge a second device. Smart!!

As TYLT explains:

“TYLT continues to innovate with the all-new RIBBN Car Charger. The revamped car charger features an improved tangle-free, flat ribbon cable that is easy to manage and soft to the touch. Measuring at 3 feet (1 meter), the RIBBN ensures your phone can easily rest in your cup holder or other convenient location while charging.”

The TYLT RIBBN 4.8A Car Charger with Flat Ribbon Cable is available with either an Apple Lightning or Micro USB connector. The Micro USB version is $39.99 while the Lightning version is ten dollars more at $49.99. (You can thank Apple for the upcharge.) Both versions of the RIBBN features an additional universal USB port for charging a second device. It’s enhanced 4.8 Amp circuit allows for rapid charging of two smartphones or even two tablets simultaneously. Choose your color and begin your hassle-free charging today.

Features:

  • Tangle-free flat ribbon cable design.
  • 3 foot (1 meter) cable.
  • Additional USB port for charging a second device.
  • 4.8 Amp circuit charges two devices simultaneously

There’s a reason TYLT has become a personal favorite and the TYLT RIBBN 4.8A Car Charger with Flat Ribbon Cable reinforces that perspective. It is a simple accessory that does things just a bit better than previous car chargers. At $39.99 and $49.99 there are less expensive options but, in my opinion, this is worth the extra few dollars.
