I’ve been trying for the better part of two weeks to login to my T-Mobile account online. No matter which way I try to login I’m  met with a request that ultimately stops me in my tracks – either a request to verify a phone number or submit a password for another T-Mobile account they say  I have.

A quick Google search leads me to believe I’m not the only one with this problem – though others appear to be able to access their accounts just fine.

T-Mobile Experiencing Lengthy Problems with Online Account Management

I’ve just returned from a nearly 10 day convention trip.  T-Mobile online access wasn’t working when I left – though there were a myriad of “I called T-Mobile and they said it’s fixed” posts scattered throughout Reddit.

Well T-Mobile online access is STILL not working for me.  I suspect it may have to do with T-Mobile trying (and failing) to consolidate multiple accounts registered under the same email address. It appears that T-Mobile is moving at least a portion of their online account management to an email based login as opposed to login using your phone number.

After adding an email address as the site requests –  I’m informed of another account under my email and please login with that password — to which login promptly fails and attempts to password reset show “server failure”. Ultimately T-Mobile locks my account due to too many login failures.

I have a Chromebook that I likely registered as well as a myriad of prepaid phones over the years as well as my current post-paid T-Mobile account. Unfortunately that combination of accounts seems to overload T-Mobile’s new online account system – or at least their feeble attempt at consolidating everyone’s account.

A phone call to T-Mobile support uncovers the standard round robin of carrier  excuses “there have been some issues over the past few weeks”, “let me be sure your account isn’t one of the affected”, “we will file a support case with our engineering team”,  etc. The call ends with a promised call back next week to be sure I can get into my online account management area.

Let’s just say I’m not holding my breath, as the T-Mobile online access continues to be broken for me.
