Version 8 of Google Hangouts for iOS is now available and it adds a long missing video attachment feature.

Users on iOS finally have the capability to attach up to a 1 minute video clip.

Previously you could only attach still images. Video calls have long been supported on both Android and iOS platforms.

Although video attachments have not yet appeared in the Android version of Hangouts, they will show in messages, appearing as an animated GIF with an ability to click to play the entire video.
