Parks & Recreation Ends…but the Laughs Continue

The comedy/satire television show Parks and Recreation shot in ‘mockumentary-style’ aired their final episode after seven seasons on NBC, but fans can get plenty more thanks to streaming media options and home video. This unique fan favorite piled on great comedy and community morals to create some memorable television, which lives on through diehard fans.

RIP Leonard Nimoy, AKA Mr Spock

Sad news in the world of science fiction-Leonard Nimoy has passed away at the age of 83. He was an icon as Mr Spock, the half-Vulcan science officer on Star Trek, as well as a fixture in various other science fiction shows (like Fringe). His contributions to pop culture cannot be understated, and he will be missed by fans everywhere!

Games Get First Real Super Bowl Feature, Was it Worth the Money?

Surprisingly based on overlapping demographics, video games have not featured widely in Super Bowl commercials in years past – maybe because the big franchises launch in late summer through the fall, maybe they were unwilling to spend the big money on the ad space, or something? But this year three ‘freemium’ mobile games spent big – but was it worth it?

The Ghostbusters Reboot Gets the Best Cast Ever!

I’m on the fence about constantly rebooting classic movies, but the more I hear about the new Ghostbusters reboot the more excited I get. The latest news from the AV Club is pointing to a dream cast; Kristin Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon!

Mythbusters Takes on Doom Video Game Carrying Capacity

One of the fun things in first-person shooter games is all of the weapons you can play around with … but it also gets pretty silly in terms of what you are able to carry by the end of the game. Pistols, machine guns, shotguns, grenade launchers, missiles, etc! Now Mythbusters is going to try to carry it all!

Proof That All Country Songs Are the Same

Has it REALLY been more than 4 years since I posted this video showing how Ke$sha’s Tik Tok, Katy Perry’s California Gurls, and Miley Cyrus’ Permanent December were all basically the same song? Well, now Sir Mashalot has taken on country music, with a mashup of 6 popular songs including artists such as Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan.

Tech On TV: Element Case Makes a Cameo on White Collar

I’m a big fan of the television show White Collar (and am bummed the series is coming to an end, and don’t get me started on The Newsroom being done. Grrrrr!) I especially loved the fact that, on the last episode, Element Case made a cameo. We are excited to visit the company’s booth at CES, and we already have a few of their new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ cases on the way for review. We will keep you posted, but do check out these pictures of an iPhone encased in one of the premium Element Case cases. And…

Thoughts on the Orion Spacecraft Launch from a Space Shuttle Fan

I truly mourned the space shuttle’s demise.  You see, Challenger, the second space shuttle, first launched on my birthday.  Unfortunately, not long after that launch we lost Challenger. Then many years later we lost Columbia. This week’s launch of the Orion spacecraft signals a return to the capsules of old and in many ways a return to what works.

Peter Pan Live! Meets 30 Rock

I am insanely excited for Peter Pan Live! After watching the previews, I am reasonably sure they raided a 70’s-era bar for Peter Pan’s clothes, Allison Williams looks less like a young man and more like a drag king, and Christopher Walken just looks lost. Funny or Die has weighed in with their take, starring Jane Krakowski of 30 Rock! Leaked ‘Peter Pan Live!’ Audition Tape with Jane Krakowski from Jane Krakowski Peter Pan Live! starring Allison Williams as the prettiest Peter Pan ever, is airing this Thursday, December 4th on NBC. Leave your bets below on whether Twitter will…
