As my travel gear and gadgets are getting more and more heavy, I need a backpack to balance the load on my shoulders rather than try to use a side pack which I?find uncomfortable and?might even hurt me.

Last week, I got a Targus 15.4″ Trademark Backpack from Targus Taiwan; let’s see what it claims to do for you.

Here are the Product Details that are quoted from Targus official site:
The Targus Trademark Backpack contains a full zip down workstation compartment and padded notebook sleeve designed for notebooks with up to 15.4″ screens. The padded contoured shoulder straps and mesh lumbar back panel are designed to increase ventilation while transporting your notebook and supplies. The backpack is also equipped with locking zippers on the notebook section and an elastic security strap for added protection. A business card holder, 3 pen loops, multiple accessory pockets, hidden zippered storage pocket and removable cell phone pocket make it easy to transport your office supplies. Two zippered side pockets and two water bottle holders are also included for convenience. This casual backpack is great for a student or executive to protect their notebook on-the-go.

Adjustable shoulder straps that adjust to fit your need.

Side mesh pack allows you to carry bottled water.

A removable cell phone pocket is attached on a shoulder strap.

Inside the front zippered chamber.

A hidden zippered pocket is 4.75″ in width and 5.9″ in depth, and it can be used to store a?pocket sized camera, MP3/MP4 player, PDA, cell phone, cables and keys, etc.

Now let’s take a look at the notebook section… oh! what’s that inside? uh ha!… it’s the other Targus backpack!

The capacity of the 15.4″ Trademark Backpack is much bigger than my currently used carrying cases. In fact, it’s my 3rd Targus backpack.

I put in a 14″ Compaq notebook, there is a 1.5″ gap though. It may fit up to 15.4″ notebook PC.

The instruction card shows all functions of this backpack.

Lifetime Warranty???… Yes! it is true. You can send you broken backpack back to Targus for repair under limited usage condition.

The list price of the Targus 15.4″ Trademark Backpack is at $59.99 US, for more detail please refer to Targus official site.

  1. I’m an old guy that wears a suit everyday and I have very large shoulders (little waist still!) and it seems that backpacks look really silly on me to say nothing of the suit scrunching.

Can’t seem to find an elegant solution so carrying Tumi briefcase when light load and a wheelie Tumi briefcase when really loaded down..

Guess I’m longing for a time long gone.. Or anyone else with similar dilemna and solution?
