Are you the type of person who always asks what time it is?  Do you have a clock on your desk even though you have a clock staring you right in the face every time you look at your computer?   Do you always wonder why your office is so darn cold?  Do you need a USB hub?  Well if all of these apply, then the USB Fever USB 4-Port Hub with Thermometer and Clock is for you!

USB 4-Port Hub with Thermometer and Clock

The USB 4-Port Hub a very small device measuring in at about 1 1/2 inches deep and 3 1/2 inches wide; it will fit just about anywhere on your desk. The front of the hub has a backlit display with the clock and temperature display on it. Out of site, under the display, are the buttons you use for setting the clock. The clock is at least as accurate as my watch and computer so it’s a set it and forget it kind of clock.

The thermometer displays the temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius, so this device is at home in any region.

The clock and thermometer are powered by an internal battery, but this battery does not provide power to the USB bus. It is so that the clock and thermometer continue to work when it’s not plugged in, however the backlight only works when the hub is plugged in.

As far as a hub, it just works. There’s no power on the hub, so I would only use it with low power devices. With that said, my MP3 player and thumb drives all worked well in the hub.

The USB 4-Port Hub with Thermometer and Clock is available from USBfever.com for $15.99

What I liked: It’s a hub; it works just fine and it’s small enough to put in your gear bag; the clock and temperature display are handy to have.

What needs improvement: The display is a little dim in the normal viewing angle; for the price, it’s fine for what it does; if you need a hub for low power devices, this will work.
